Caterpillar’s Sanford, NC facility is the company’s global source for compact track loaders—handling everything from design and fabrication to full assembly and testing. It has grown into a major manufacturing hub with more than 2,000 employees and over 420,000 machines produced to date.
We have multiple openings for a 3rd Shift Assembly Production Manager at our Sanford facility. In this role, you will lead a team in improving processes and systems and the manufacturing of the products produced in the facility. You will oversee and coordinate the activities of a complex production line, prepares schedules, resolves issues, and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards.
What you can look forward to doing in this role:
Monitors and improves shop floor safety, aggressively eliminates unsafe processes
Assures fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules
Determines priorities and sequences jobs
Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts staffing to meet flow and customer requirements
Determines and executes disciplinary action when appropriate
Procures and distributes production material to meet schedules
Procures and distributes production material to meet schedules
Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
Implements, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification and others
Evaluates, assess, identifies and leads the deployment of workforce training

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills and have:
Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Manufacturing experience
Experience in leadership within manufacturing environment

Additional Information:
The primary location for this position is Sanford, NC.
This 3rd Shift will be Monday-Thursday 7:30PM- 530AM.
There is an 8% Shift Premium for 3rd Shift roles.
The first weeks of training will be on 1st Shift from 600AM-400PM

Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
