With a focus on productivity, the right resource will lead Continuous Improvement efforts targeted toward streamlining existing processes, optimizing cycle times, reducing errors, and improving customer satisfaction as identified by the business strategy. This resource could also provide mentorship to many organizational projects/employees by sharing best practices and knowledge around continuous improvement tools and methodologies, project management and team leadership. This individual must be able to quickly understand the business in order to recommend improved, strategic and sustainable solutions as well as identify further opportunities for improvement. This role partners closely with senior leadership and requires high proficiency in clear communication, navigating political landscapes, change management, and the ability to effectively influence with limited authority.
Job Functions/Responsibilities
• Drive strategic cross-functional continuous improvement organization within Performance Excellence and Performance Management Teams (PMT), consisting of program and multi-functional organizations focused on improving efficiencies and cost reduction
• Position will work with all aspects of Operations and Space Enterprise to clearly support defining projects, business impacts, ROI, communication and closure of initiatives and drive metrics for measuring business improvements using Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and business processes management principles
• Drive the roll out and sustainment of the Focused Leader Excellence Management Operating System.
• Effectively engage continuous improvement team members across the Space business area to foster business transformation. Work with leadership to coordinate the appropriate human and operational resources
• Track status of all impacting projects in the organization, provide visibility to management in a powerful and consistent manner. Introduce credible methods to improve clarity and effectiveness
• The position will report to the Performance Excellence Sr. Manager
• Drive 6S/Visual Factory training, maintenance, materials, tools, improvements, and resources.
• Facilitate and participate in ongoing improvement projects involving 6S, Safety, etc.
• Coordinate with leadership to implement projects, sustain/audit, and create actionable plans for improvement.
• Average of 10% or less travel
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college
• Demonstrated understanding of process improvement techniques and experience implementing change within an organization
• Demonstrated success in leading teams, implementing change (change management) and process improvements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical mindset and proven ability to develop business cases (example ROI)
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Lockheed Martin Performance Management Teams (PMTs) and Management Operating System implementation
• Bachelor’s degree related to manufacturing, engineering, physics, mathematics, or related technical field preferred
• Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, or Master Black Belt
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Project management experience
• Ability to drive results and be action oriented in change environment
• Experience in technical data management
• Strong project management and organization skills
• Ability to multi-task and adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $95,000 - $167,440. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
