Mainframe System DBA (m/w/d)
About your role:
Provide technical and operational support for a large IBM Mainframe Db2 infrastructure within a highly technical, global IBM Mainframe environment. z/OS and ISV System Administration.
What you’ll do:
- Manage all aspects of Db2 z/OS system programming administration.
- Maintain USS objects for Db2 and related products. Create, modify, or maintain custom-developed CLIST and REXX utilities.
- Install Db2 for z/OS, apply Db2 for z/OS maintenance, and install Db2-related tools.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 operational support.
- Create database backups and perform database recoveries as required. Troubleshoot service issues, identify root causes, and provide solutions.
- Monitor the performance of database subsystems and devise solutions for performance-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with database policies and procedures.
- Support and participate in disaster recovery exercises. Serve as the primary point of contact for support from Db2 tool vendors (IBM, Broadcom, Insoft, etc.)
Experience you’ll need to have:
- More than 5 years of production support experience for Db2 z/OS, including Data Sharing, Db2 Connect, and IIDR CDC.
- Strong proficiency in JCL, DDL, DML, SMP/E, TSO, z/OS Assembler, REXX, and CLISTs.
- Mastery of CA/Broadcom Db2 tools and utilities such as CA-Insight, IBM InfoSphere Optim, and IBM Data Capture.
- Experience with RACF, HSM, USS, and Workload Manager in the context of Db2 z/OS.
- Database performance monitoring and optimization.
- The ability to work independently and maintain a strong solutions-oriented approach.

- Ability to speak fluent German
