Republic Services is seeking a Municipal Supervisor in Richmond, CA to support municipal contract compliance and act as a primary liaison between Republic Services and our municipal partners. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with state and local regulations, accurate data reporting, and successful delivery of sustainability programs.
✨ What you’ll be responsible for:
- Ensuring compliance with municipal contracts, PCA requirements, and applicable laws including AB 341, AB 1826, SB 1383, SB 54, and other regulatory mandates
- Overseeing data collection, tracking, and reporting related to diversion, tonnage, contamination, HHW, organics, recycling, and solid waste
- Preparing, auditing, and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to municipalities and state agencies (e.g., CalRecycle)
- Supporting rate setting, audits, permit compliance, and enforcement‑related reporting
- Partnering with municipal staff to maintain confidence in Republic Services’ contract performance
- Leading and supporting Sustainability Advisors and Compliance Monitors (as required)
- Coordinating community outreach, recycling education, compost giveaways, and sustainability initiatives
- Collaborating with Municipal Sales, the Business Unit GM, and external partners to align contract obligations with operational execution
- Supporting public education materials, website content, and multilingual outreach efforts
