Job Description
NBC News Group is looking for a passionate, motivated candidate to join the Digital Analytics team. Our team sits at the intersection of data, storytelling, and growth—using insights to inform editorial strategy, optimize product experiences, and drive audience and subscription growth across our brands.
In this role, you will partner with editorial, product, marketing, and business teams to uncover opportunities across the full user journey—from prospecting and acquisition through engagement and retention. You’ll go beyond reporting to investigate trends, identify drivers of performance, and translate data into clear, actional recommendations.
This is an impactful individual contributor role focused on shaping analytics approaches and delivering insights that influence decision-making across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in data analysis, a sharp eye for patterns, and a deep interest in digital media and subscription. You understand industry trends and audience behavior—and are excited to turn that knowledge into meaningful impact for NBC News and TODAY digital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Editorial teams to understand content performance and deliver recommendations to expand and engage with key audiences
- Partner with Data Engineering teams to identify requisite data sources to enhance database, financial, and marketing operations
- Partner with Finance, Business Development, and DTC teams to maintain and refine operational business models and forecasts
- Work within large datasets and data lake to pull data for advanced analysis
- Maintain, update, and distribute actionable dashboards and reports to ensure data governance and democratization
- Support data preparation for senior level executive presentations
- Leverage data visualization tools to curate reporting for cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- BA/BS or MS degree in a quantitative area of study (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or related discipline)
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in digital analytics or a related field
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel (R or Python a plus)
- Experience with web and social analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, etc.)
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Domo, or Power BI
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail, work ethic, sense of curiosity, accountability, and ability to execute projects of all sizes with vision & purpose
- Ability to deliver on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Self-driven, confident, resourceful, and resilient
- Experience supporting subscription or direct-to-consumer (DTC) businesses, including lifecycle analytics (acquisition, retention, churn)
- Experience working in a digital publishing, media, or newsroom environment
- Familiarity with audience segmentation, propensity modeling, or predictive analytics
- A proactive, self-starter mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Additional Requirements:
Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $100,000 - $115,000 (bonus eligible)
