Job Summary
The EPCM Security Manager is responsible for personnel engaged in the Physical Security function, including oversight of systems governing the movement and control of personnel and vehicular traffic, administration of personnel and visitor security clearances, management of loss prevention and detection services, and the planning and execution of security inspections.
The role also includes responsibility for security‑related contract management, ensuring that all security contractors operate strictly within the contractual scope, terms, and defined security perimeters, and that services are delivered in full compliance with approved security standards, procedures, and performance requirements. The EPCM Security Manager provides assurance that contractor activities remain aligned with contractual obligations, company policies, and regulatory expectations.
Under general direction, the EPCM Security Manager applies specialized knowledge and expertise to resolve complex and non‑routine security issues and to lead the day‑to‑day activities of business, technical, or functional support teams. The position establishes priorities to ensure the timely and effective completion of assigned tasks.
The EPCM Security Manager exercises sound judgment in interpreting internal and external security requirements and contributes to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of best practices. The role may include directing resources, prioritizing workloads, and providing guidance and oversight to less experienced team members. The position relies on professional experience, strong interpersonal skills, and broad functional knowledge to ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, contractual obligations, and the overall business strategy.
Description of Job Duties
- Provide direct support to the Client Security Manager (SM) in the maintenance, review, and documentation of Security Risk Assessments, ensuring alignment with the prevailing operating environment, threat profile, and operational activities.
- Liaise closely with the Client Security Manager and relevant KBR project points of contact, both on and off the Majnoon Oilfield, on all security‑related matters, ensuring consistent communication, coordination, and issue resolution.
- Plan, coordinate, and ensure delivery of regular security training sessions and Toolbox Talks (TBTs) for the KBR security team, incorporating lessons learned, assurance findings, and emerging risks.
- Contribute to the development, refinement, and implementation of the overall security strategy to mitigate identified and emerging security risks across EPCM activities.
- Support efforts to prevent corporate data compromise, protect critical assets such as oil pipelines and facilities, and ensure business continuity, crisis management, and incident response plans are established, maintained, tested, and periodically reviewed.
- Assist KBR projects to ensure all security requirements are implemented and maintained in accordance with MOSS (Majnoon Minimum Security Standards), while maintaining effective day‑to‑day coordination with the KBR Security Manager.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and constructive working relationship with client security management, government stakeholders, and key internal partners.
- Provide structured input into KBR security management documentation, including policies, strategies, plans, procedures, assurance frameworks, and security performance and compliance reporting.
- Undertake interdepartmental liaison to ensure effective communication, alignment, and compliance with EPCM security standards, contractual security obligations, and operational requirements.
- Support and participate in security assurance activities, including audits, inspections, reviews, and assessments of EPCM security projects on the Majnoon Oilfield and external locations, ensuring findings are documented, reported, and corrective actions tracked to closure.
- Assist with the preparation, review, and submission of security assurance, compliance, and performance reports, providing visibility of risk status, incidents, contractor compliance, and improvement actions.
- Oversee and coordinate aspects of the Physical Security function, including monitoring systems controlling personnel and vehicular movement, administration of personnel and visitor security clearances, management of loss prevention and detection services, and participation in planned and ad‑hoc security inspections.
- Support security‑related contract management, providing assurance that all security contractors operate strictly within approved contractual scope, defined security perimeters, and applicable standards, and that services are delivered in compliance with contractual, policy, and regulatory requirements.
- Apply judgment and professional expertise to resolve complex and non‑routine security issues, prioritise tasks, and support the effective allocation of resources where required.
- Mentor, advise, and coordinate Local National (LN) EPCM Security Officers, including oversight of day‑to‑day activities, performance, and professional development.
- Support and undertake additional security‑related tasks as directed by the KBR Security Manager, in line with business needs and evolving security requirements.
