Security Support Officer – Oil & Gas (Middle East Projects)
Job Summary
The Security Support Officer provides operational and administrative support to site security management on oil and gas projects across the Middle East. The role supports the implementation of approved Site Security Plans (SSPs), access control procedures, and security operations in compliance with company policies, client requirements, and local government regulations. The position contributes to maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant project environment.
Key Responsibilities
Site Security Operations
- Support daily security operations at offices, construction sites, camps, and operational facilities
- Assist in implementing site‑specific security procedures and approved Site Security Plans
- Monitor perimeter security, access control points, CCTV systems, and guard patrol activities
- Support security coverage for audits, inspections, high‑profile visits, and critical activities
Access Control & Regulatory Compliance
- Assist with management of ID badges, gate passes, and vehicle permits
- Verify credentials of employees, contractors, subcontractors, and visitors
- Ensure adherence to client access matrices and local authority requirements
- Maintain accurate access logs, registers, and security records
Incident Response & Reporting
- Support initial response to security incidents, alarms, or access violations
- Assist with preparation of incident reports, daily logs, and security summaries
- Escalate incidents and security concerns through the approved site reporting lines
- Support corrective actions and follow‑up measures
Coordination & Liaison
- Coordinate with contracted guard forces to ensure compliance with post orders and instructions
- Liaise with site management, HSE teams, facilities, and project personnel
- Support coordination with local authorities and emergency services when directed
- Assist with security briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions
Administration & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain security documentation in accordance with company and client standards
- Support internal and client security audits and inspections
- Assist in tracking security action items and close‑out
- Promote security awareness and professional conduct across site personnel
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Security Management, Law Enforcement, Military Service, or a related discipline
Experience
- 3–7 years of site security experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, EPC/EPCM projects
- Prior experience working on Middle East projects is strongly preferred
- Experience in regulated, client‑controlled environments is an advantage
Skills & Competencies
- Good understanding of industrial security and access control processes
- Strong reporting, documentation, and administrative skills
- Effective communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural awareness
- Ability to work shifts and operate in outdoor, industrial environments
Certifications & Training (Preferred)
- Industrial or Corporate Security Training
- First Aid / CPR
- H2S Awareness
- Basic Firefighting
- Familiarity with local security licensing frameworks (country‑specific, role dependent)
Working Environment
- Oil & gas construction or operational sites across the Middle East
- Site‑based role with a mix of office and field duties
- Generally low‑threat but highly regulated, compliance‑driven environment
