The Systems for Tactical Realtime Information Exchange (STRĪX) engineering organization, located in St. Petersburg, FL, is seeking an Associate Director of Systems Engineering to join our systems engineering team as onsite Chief Systems Architect.
The Chief Systems Architect plays a pivotal role in overseeing the design, integration, and optimization of complex systems within an organization. They are responsible for ensuring that all system components work harmoniously and effectively to meet project goals and requirements. This includes defining system architecture, guiding technical teams, evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Additionally, they collaborate closely with stakeholders to align system solutions with business objectives and provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle. Their expertise is crucial in addressing technical challenges, mitigating risks, and driving innovation in system development.
What You Will Do:

Defines a top-level conceptual model that conveys the structure and behavioral views of a system

Creates the blueprint for both a system and the associated project, laying out the system's components or modules, the way they interact, and the technologies and standards to be used
-
Ensures that a system meets the requirements of performance, scalability, reliability and maintainability
-
Leads a team of system architects across the engineering organization; Imparts knowledge, expertise and technical experience to less-experienced members of the engineering organization
-
Participates in planning, definition and high-level design of the solution and explores solution alternatives
-
Works with portfolio stakeholders to develop, analyze, split and realize the definition of features and capabilities
-
Champion the development of system requirements, ensuring complete, unambiguous, verifiable and traceable requirements that serve as a foundation for design, development and testing of the overall system
-
Support a model-based approach to systems engineering, using digital models to support the specification, design, analysis, verification, and validation of systems
-
Operate in a collaborative, SAFe agile environment. Work, mentor and review development of system engineering artifacts developed by the agile scrum teams to ensure quality customer delivery
Qualifications You Must Have:
-
Successfully executed in a previous engineering leadership role
-
Extensive experience working with large, complex system of systems from both a development and maintenance perspective from an architectural perspective including DoDAF
-
Expertise in data reduction, extraction and post-mortem analysis of one or more large, complex software systems
-
Advanced experience creating and maintaining system and software digital models of complex, real-time embedded systems and processes. Experience in MBSE development and SysML 2.0 principles

Excellent written/oral communication skills; Ability to communicate with different audience levels ranging from new engineers to senior customers
-
Knowledge of system requirements development, systems software design, architectures, software development life cycle and processes as they relate to real-time software development
-
Experience supporting a large (>250K LOC) and active software code base leveraging trunk-based development
-
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience

Active and transferable DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. Must have the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:

Active DoD Top Secret Clearance is preferred.
-
DoDAF Architect certification is desired but not required.
-
Experience developing system architectures, designs, and test methodologies in a team-based environment, preferably Agile/SCRUM, DevSecOps and test automation.

Experience with US Naval system of systems architectures and technologies, including combat systems, networking, airborne and surface tracking, and identification friend or foe systems
-
Strong problem-solving and communication skills, including ability to produce technical documentation, and the desire to learn new technologies and tools.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers from various communities and cultures.
-
Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles.

Knowledgeable with MBSE tools such as Cameo

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
