Senior Processing Specialist
About the Role
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide timely and accurate responses to written and verbal consumer disputes, inquiries, and complaints related to active collection accounts. All dispute responses are governed by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
This position is responsible for conducting research, performing investigations, and supporting multiple departments across TRS Recovery Services and TeleCheck to ensure compliant and accurate case resolution
What You Will Do
- Research and evaluate work cases related to disputes, fraud, chargebacks, and consumer complaints
- Review documentation received through multiple intake channels and triage cases to the appropriate teams
- Conduct investigations and develop resolutions in accordance with established guidelines and regulations
- Prepare written correspondence to consumers communicating dispute or inquiry outcomes
- Communicate and collaborate with internal teams and relationship managers on case‑related matters
- Read, interpret, and comprehend consumer documentation and supporting materials
- Organize and manage a caseload to ensure work is completed accurately, in the correct order, and within required timeframes
- Make decisions within established policies regarding various work cases and transaction types
- Handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately

What You Will Need to Have
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of banking, collections, dispute resolution, or association rules and regulations
- Strong case management and production skills
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to comprehend and apply regulatory requirements
- Basic typing and arithmetic skills
- Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving abilities
What Would Be Great to Have
- Prior experience handling FDCPA and FCRA‑regulated disputes
- Experience working in collections, recovery services, or financial services
- Familiarity with case management or workflow systems
- Ability to manage high‑volume workloads while maintaining accuracy and compliance
