The Role
The Emerging Experiences team is a senior design group charged with exploring what is next for GM’s digital experiences. The team operates ahead of product delivery, translating emerging technologies and interaction models into tangible visual concepts for web and mobile platforms. As a Senior Visual Designer, you will focus on craft, interface detail, and visual language, creating high‑fidelity explorations that define how future experiences should look and feel. Your work sets a clear quality bar and helps the organization align around strong, expressive design direction.
What You’ll Do

Create visually refined interface designs that demonstrate clarity, hierarchy, and digital craft across web and mobile platforms.

Produce high‑fidelity layouts and screen explorations that define future experience look and feel.

Develop strong visual hierarchies, composition systems, and interface structures for complex products.

Explore visual direction through rapid concepting and artifact creation that makes abstract ideas tangible.

Design polished interface states, transitions, and micro‑interactions that enhance usability and quality.

Translate brand expression into consistent, high‑craft interface design across digital surfaces.

Provide visual critique and guidance that helps elevate craft and discipline across the design organization.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

8 or more years of experience in visual, product, UX, or interface design for web and or mobile platforms.

Demonstrated expertise in typography, layout, spacing, composition, and visual hierarchy.

Proven ability to produce polished, high‑fidelity design explorations and interface artifacts.

Advanced proficiency with design tools such as Figma and industry‑standard visual design workflows.

Strong collaboration and communication skills in a cross‑functional, distributed environment.

Compensation:

The expected base compensation for this role is: ($188,200-288,500). Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
