Job Title: Project Manager – Payments & Service Provider Governance
Overview
The Project Manager – Payments & Service Provider Governance is responsible for leading initiatives within the payments domain, with a focus on Payment Service Providers (PSPs), transaction flows with third‑party vendors, and strengthening governance models. This role drives delivery across cross‑functional teams while ensuring effective oversight, control, and accountability of external service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end project delivery for payment‑related initiatives involving Payment Service Providers (PSPs).
- Manage projects supporting payment transaction processing with external service providers.
- Coordinate activities across Finance, Payments Operations, Procurement, Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams.
- Drive improvements in governance frameworks for payment service providers, including controls, oversight, and accountability models.
- Oversee service provider onboarding, change initiatives, and ongoing engagement from a project delivery perspective.
- Track project milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies related to payment transactions and vendor interactions.
- Ensure projects align with regulatory, compliance, and internal control requirements in the payment space.
- Support vendor performance management initiatives, including SLA tracking and remediation planning.
- Prepare executive‑level project status reports, dashboards, and governance materials.
- Facilitate decision‑making forums and working sessions related to payment services and provider governance.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold the firm’s respectful and courteous work environment.
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven Project Management experience within the payments domain.
- Hands‑on experience working with Payment Service Providers (PSPs).
- Experience managing initiatives involving payment transactions with third‑party service providers.
- Strong background driving governance improvements for external vendors or service providers.
- Understanding of payment operations, transaction lifecycles, and third‑party risk considerations.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional communication skills.
- Experience delivering projects in regulated or risk‑sensitive environments.
- Proficiency with project management tools and reporting methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services, fintech, or payments modernization programs.
- Background in vendor governance, third‑party risk management, or operational controls.
