We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Architect to lead technical design and delivery for Orange County's Salesforce environment. This role owns architecture decisions, drives integration strategy, and works directly with county stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable, secure solutions. Hands-on development is expected alongside strategic responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own end-to-end Salesforce architecture across Service Cloud and Public Sector Solutions (Gov Cloud)
- Design scalable, maintainable data models, integration patterns, and security frameworks
- Lead technical discovery sessions with county business and IT stakeholders
- Translate business requirements into architecture blueprints, solution design documents, and working code
- Drive CI/CD and DevOps maturity across the Salesforce org
- Conduct code reviews and set standards for Apex, LWC, and API development
- Mentor lead and mid-level developers on the engagement
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and system integrators where applicable
- Identify technical risks early and drive resolution

- Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Visualforce
- REST and SOAP API integrations with third-party systems
- CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Salesforce DevOps tooling (SFDX, Copado, Gearset, or equivalent)
- ETL tools for data migration and data management
- Salesforce Security Model (profiles, permission sets, OWD, sharing rules, field-level security)
- Deep experience with Salesforce Public Sector Solutions (LPI / case management)
- Strong integration architecture: event-driven patterns, middleware, MuleSoft or similar
- Experience designing org-wide security and data access frameworks
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 8+ years of Salesforce development and architecture experience
- Minimum 2 years working with Government Cloud or Public Sector Solutions
- Prior experience on county, state, or municipal government Salesforce implementations preferred
- Salesforce certifications required: Application Architect, System Architect, or equivalent combination (PD2,
B2C, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale, multi-year Salesforce engagements
SOFT SKILLS & EXPECTATIONS
- Can communicate architecture decisions clearly to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a government environment with formal change management processes
- Available for occasional after-hours support during go-live windows
- Strong written communication for design documents, runbooks, and status reporting
Pay: $85.00 - $95.00 per hour
