The WorkThe Launchers Integrated Engineering team is seeking a Lead Member of Engineering Staff – System Architect to support Launchers and Weapons programs within Lockheed Martin’s portfolio. This role requires the ability to develop, communicate, and oversee system architectures for highly complex systems.
As the focal point for Launchers Integrated Engineering, you will lead the development and communication of system architecture and requirements, ensuring mission needs are translated into comprehensive system solutions that account for design constraints and technology maturity.
In your role as an LMES – System Architect, you will:
• Provide technical leadership and guidance for program execution across launcher product lines.
• Shape system architectures to drive future capabilities and integrate emerging technologies.
• Contribute strategic value through engagement in programs, captures, projects, and R&D initiatives.
• Mentor and develop team members through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Maintain and expand expertise in state-of-the-art technologies and external engineering communities.
• Collaborate across product lines and organizations to promote innovation and shared learning.

Learn more about Lockheed Martin's Comprehensive benefits package here!Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college with 9 years of professional experience or Master's degree with 7 years of professional experience.
• 5+ years of related experience with development and maintenance of complex system architectures.
• Demonstrated success in leading execution of system projects and teams.
• High proficiency in CAMEO, Matlab, or Python.
• Qualified candidate must be able to obtain & maintain a secret security clearance. Obtaining a security clearance requires US citizenship.
Desired Skills:• 9 or more years of experience in systems development across design, modeling and simulation, software and/or hardware implementation, and integration and test phases.
• Exceptional record of sustained technical achievement, job performance, and continued technical growth.
• Demonstrated technical mentorship at all career levels.
• Strong interpersonal and soft skills that allow for coaching and the ability to state clear convictions and influence outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to provide advice/guidance during intense technical efforts and difficult situations that may require re-direction to achieve mission success.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
