We are seeking a skilled hands-on Senior Software Engineer (Sr. Full Stack. Net Developer/Architect) to join our Applications Development & Intelligence Automation - CAT IT Division (Chennai).
The preference for this role is to be based out of WTC Centre Chennai-India
What you will do
Solar Turbines is hiring a hands-on Senior Full Stack .NET Developer/Architect (12+ years) to own end-to-end solution design and personally deliver code across the stack. This is an implementation-focused architect role—driving integrations, modernization, and release execution for business-critical enterprise applications (starting quickly).
Role and Responsibilities
- Hands-on architect: write and review production-ready full-stack .NET code, lead design/architecture decisions, and provide technical oversight through build, deployment, and support
- Lead solution analysis, architecture, design, and implementation for enterprise applications and integrations
- Partner with business stakeholders, Enterprise Architects, and delivery teams to translate requirements into technical designs
- Define high-level solution specifications, ensuring integration approach and technical feasibility
- Drive proof-of-concepts and iterative delivery with cross-functional teams to de-risk and validate solutions
- Ensure solutions meet quality, security, scalability, performance, and maintainability standards
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, architecture governance, and best practices; mentor and guide developers
- Coordinate with enterprise application teams to plan, execute, and deliver technology initiatives end to end
- Design and build reusable components, shared services, and frameworks to accelerate delivery across teams
What you will have
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or STEM-related degree.
- 12+ years architecting and delivering scalable, secure full-stack enterprise .NET solutions—driving results under tight timelines
- 12+ years .NET development (modern .NET/.NET Core, C#, ASP.NET/MVC; WCF/WPF/WinForms; VB.NET)
- 12+ years front-end development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (incl. jQuery/DHTML), XML
- 10+ years designing web services and APIs (REST, SOAP)
- 10+ years data modeling and database design (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Development experience across Agile/Scrum and Waterfall
- Reporting implementation experience: SSRS, RDLC
- Experience building multi-tier, service-oriented systems
- 5 years of resource management experience
- 5 years of legacy and data migration experience
- DevOps/tools: Git, TFS, Azure DevOps (CI/CD); Azure cloud exposure preferred
- Strong communication, customer focus, and collaborative team mindset
- Strong OO programming skills, including async patterns, generics, and multithreading
- Hands-on modernization experience—able to quickly assess legacy systems and define target architectures
- Production support/troubleshooting for mission-critical systems in fast-paced environments
- JavaScript frameworks such as Angular8+ or React are a plus
- Planview Portfolio & Roadmap experience
- This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office.
- Shift Timing: 01:00-Noon -10:00PM IST
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manufacturing experience, including engineering application development
- Azure cloud services and cloud-native architecture (App Service/Functions, Key Vault, Storage)
- Microservices and event-driven integration patterns (messaging/queues, resiliency, distributed systems)
- Modern identity and API security (OAuth2/OIDC, Azure AD, secure coding practices)
- Observability and performance engineering (logging/metrics/tracing, dashboards/alerting, tuning)
- Containerization (Docker) and orchestration exposure (Kubernetes/AKS)
- Test automation and quality practices (unit/integration tests, code reviews, static analysis)
Skills desired:

Software Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace.
Level Working Knowledge:
• Describes similarities and differences of life cycle for new product development vs. new release.
• Identifies common issues, problems, and considerations for each phase of the life cycle.
• Works with a formal life cycle methodology.
• Explains phases, activities, dependencies, deliverables, and key decision points.

Software Integration Engineering: Knowledge of software integration processes and functions; ability to design, develop and maintain interfaces and linkage to alternative platforms and software packages.

Software Product Design/Architecture: Knowledge of software product design; ability to convert market requirements into the software product design.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Demonstrates experience with the architecture and design of major or multiple products.

• Explains design considerations for commercial database systems, operating systems and web.
