We are seeking a Salesforce Technical Manager / Solution Architect for a long-term onsite contract role in Chicago, IL. This role is ideal for someone who combines Salesforce architecture expertise with project and implementation leadership. The person will lead the full Salesforce implementation lifecycle — from requirements gathering and solution design through build oversight, integrations, testing, deployment, and business adoption.
We are looking for someone who can act as the bridge between business stakeholders, implementation partners, technical teams, and leadership, while ensuring the Salesforce platform is designed and delivered correctly. Pharma industry experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end Salesforce implementation and delivery across business and technical teams
- Define overall Salesforce solution architecture, design approach, and implementation roadmap
- Translate business requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions and technical workstreams
- Manage implementation timelines, priorities, risks, dependencies, and vendor coordination
- Oversee technical design across configuration, customization, integrations, data migration, security, and deployment
- Provide direction to developers and technical teams on best practices for Salesforce build and integration
- Partner with business stakeholders to align platform capabilities with business process goals
- Ensure successful coordination of testing, release management, cutover, and post-go-live support
- Drive governance, documentation, architecture standards, and solution quality
- Support cross-functional communication among business, IT, PMO, and implementation partners
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of Salesforce experience with strong solution design and implementation leadership
- Proven experience leading or managing full Salesforce implementations
- Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, platform capabilities, and integration patterns
- Experience overseeing technical areas such as Apex, Lightning components, APIs, data migration, and security model
- Strong project management and stakeholder management experience
- Ability to work across business users, architects, developers, and third-party vendors
- Experience with delivery planning, issue/risk management, and implementation governance
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Must be able to work onsite in Chicago
