POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Training Specialist is responsible for creating, delivering, and continuously improving training programs that support safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with Operations, Safety, Quality, and Engineering to ensure employees are properly trained on processes, equipment, and standard work. The Training Lead serves as a subject-matter resource for on-the-job training, supports new hire onboarding, maintains training documentation and certifications, and helps build a skilled, flexible workforce aligned with production and compliance requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct training events for manufacturing personnel and/or other department personnel as requested.
- Work with Leads to ensure production processes are being followed.
- Responsible for the scheduling and the communication of training events, working with managers and supervisors to optimize training time while minimizing impact to production schedules.
- Post schedules and maintain training information boards.
- Coach and assist trainers in development and delivery of training modules.
- Attend training events to evaluate effectiveness and aide the continuous improvement process.
- Suggest improvement opportunities to trainers and management. Suggest process changes to Engineering.
- Assist in the evaluation of potential training material for purchase.
- Coordinate the activities of other trainers.
QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective training methods required.
- Proven leadership abilities.
- J-STD and IPC 610 Trainer Certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experienced in delivery of training material in a classroom setting required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Background in teaching and/or public speaking highly preferred.
- Experience working in areas of the subject matter being taught required.
- Average skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Strong presentation skills and experience with speaking to large groups required.
- Solid written and verbal communications skills required.
- Ability to organize and manage numerous tasks and projects simultaneously required.
- Successful candidate must be an energetic self-starter, who has a desire to continually learn and grow professionally.
- Ability to work under minimal guidance required.
Work Arrangement : Onsite
Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Bonus Eligible: This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
