Overview
ABM Industries is seeking a safety-focused, results-driven Bus Training Manager to lead driver training and compliance efforts within our transportation operations. The Bus Training Manager develops, coordinates, and delivers comprehensive training programs to ensure our drivers operate safely, professionally, and in full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role plays a critical leadership position supporting ABM’s commitment to operational excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
Training & Instruction
• Conduct classroom, behind-the-wheel, and safety training for new and existing bus drivers.
• Deliver refresher and remedial training as needed to reinforce safe driving practices.
• Ensure training programs align with ABM policies, client standards, and regulatory requirements.
Driver Evaluation & Coaching
• Conduct check-rides, skill assessments, and annual evaluations.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and corrective feedback.
• Identify training gaps and implement improvement plans.
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain accurate training evaluations, and incident records.
• Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure documentation is current, accurate, and audit-ready.
Qualifications
• 3–5+ years of experience as a school bus or commercial passenger vehicle driver.
• Valid CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and defensive driving principles.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit for extended periods while driving. • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and vehicle entry/exit.
• Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles in varying conditions.
