JOB TITLE: Regional Director of Operations
Aboutthe Role
The Regional Director will be a keymember in our global operations team supporting one of its largest customers,Meta. The successful candidate will leadDL’s Meta’s West region and will support the deliveryof all the various network infrastructure and cabling projects within (VLL,VCN, VCNC and LVN – Los Lunas New Mexico. SNC, NWK, and METL Labs – Fremont CA andother sites as assigned. This region includes multiple sites, and represents ~$22Min annual revenue, incorporating both construction builds and SiteModifications / Managed Services. Position will report to the Managing Director,Operations, is a key member of DL’s Meta organization given the large remit andprovides for tremendous development, and an opportunity for growth, as wecontinue to scale our business and serve expanded markets. The successful candidate will also become akey operations team member that will have ample opportunity to grow into roleswith increasing responsibility and scale within Direct Line’s succession plan. Role requires a broad skill set, including abusiness development mindset, strong business management, innovation orientationand personnel development capabilities, solid client engagement skills, operationalfocus, and overall leadership skills.
One key expectation for this role is touse your outside-in thinking, to bring a fresh perspective on operationaldelivery, talent development and innovation to DL’s operations. This is a critical requirement for our clientsas they are driving industry partners to accelerate their deployments, increasetheir talent pools and identify innovative opportunities to leverage acrosstheir 3 gigawatt + platform.
Additional areas of engagement,participation and support would include the following:
- Support DL’s effort toestablish operations delivery structure and incorporate the DL WayPlaybook SOP’s, a proprietary approach to project fulfillment from opportunityto customer transition.
- Support the build anddeployment of DL’s mobilization and Tiger teams, including visibility toadditional sites.
- Support Direct LineUniversity’s training program and curriculum build for Operations Leadership,Project Management and Supervisory training, serving as a Subject Matter Expert(SME) and key contributor.
What You Will Do
- Build a world-class Region,delivering exceptional operational metrics, including roadmaps to innovate andscale; contribute as an integral part of a management team to develop strategicobjectives, goals and long-range plans for the organization.
- Proactively communicate Regionstatus and risks to DL Leadership, client, and across cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate and partnereffectively with internal and external design, construction, network, andfacility partners.
- Support the team to removerisks and blockers to assure the delivery of structured cable and networkconnectivity projects in region, on time, within budget, and to the customersstandards of quality, safety, and performance.
- Manage an autonomous Regionoperations team that responds to operational requests and break-fixes to assuredata center reliability and uptime through the lifecycle of the networkinstallation and server fleet.
- Ensure a proper safety plan is in place serving as theblueprint for the way the overall team conducts high-risk activities at region.
- Accountable for effectiveproject management and delivery of network infrastructure and ISP/OSP cabling projects.
- Proactively identify and developimprovement projects for the business unit and region.
- Employ Key Performance Indicators anddashboards to monitor the quality and timeliness of delivery and drivemeasurable improvements.
- Identify means to innovate deliveryefforts.
- Champion, implement, and automate globalbest practices, SOPs/SIPs, and efficient processes.
What You Will Need
- 10+ years of direct work experience in any of these areas: constructionmanagement, data centers, or structured cabling environment.
- Trackrecord of delivering mission critical programs on time, within budget, and toapplicable build, quality and safety standards.
- Contractnegotiation and administration experience
- Experiencebuilding, developing and leading teams.
- Experiencein assessing, coaching and mentoring direct reports and vendor teams.
- Organizational,time management and coordination skills across multiple disciplines preferred.
- PMPcertification, with experience managing Project Managers preferred.
