Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail oriented Summer Student – Scale House Attendant to support operations at our aggregates facility during the busy construction season. This role is ideal for a student interested in gaining experience in construction materials, logistics, and site operations.
The Scale House Attendant plays a key role in tracking aggregate materials such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone by accurately weighing trucks and maintaining records while ensuring safe and efficient site access.

Key Responsibilities
- Weigh inbound and outbound aggregate trucks using the scale system
- Accurately record material types (sand, gravel, crushed rock, etc.) and quantities
- Issue and verify scale tickets for customers and internal deliveries
- Enter data into the scale software and maintain accurate records
- Communicate with dispatch, loaders, and plant staff regarding truck flow and load details
- Provide professional customer service to contract and third party drivers
- Monitor truck traffic and report issues or concerns
- Follow all site safety policies and procedures
- Perform general scale house and administrative duties as required

- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
- Comfortable with computers and data entry
- Clear communication skills and a professional attitude
- Ability to stay organized in a fast paced, high volume environment
- Reliable, punctual, and safety focused
- Previous exposure to aggregates, construction, or industrial sites is an asset but not required

Working Conditions
- Primarily office based scale house with frequent interaction with truck drivers
- Located on an active aggregate site with heavy equipment and truck traffic
- PPE required on site (training and equipment provided as needed)
