Amentum is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to serve as an integral member of our Engineering and Technology (E&T) growth team. The Senior Solutions Architect will play a critical role in driving the development of innovative, competitive, and tailored solutions for federal government proposals. This pivotal role is responsible for translating client needs, capture strategies, and compliance requirements into compelling technical and operational solutions that align with organizational goals and win strategies. The ideal candidate has a strong background in federal contracting, with expertise in systems engineering, IT, and/or mission support, and excels at defining creative, compliant, and cost-effective approaches to meet and exceed customer requirements.
The Senior Solution Architect will provide thought leadership and have end-item ownership of the technical strategy and response for the proposal development process and serve as the technical volume manager and/or lead in select proposal volumes/sections. The candidate must be able to proactively engage with key Amentum stakeholders to include interviewing Subject Matter Experts to develop technical solutions and proposal technical responses. This position requires outstanding writing skills and ability to convey complex technical solutions, and compliance information within the systems engineering domain space in a highly readable, customer-focused format.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Serving as the senior technical architect across the pursuit lifecycle and within an integrated growth team, including proposal, capture and business development activities.
• Providing end-to-end thought leadership across proposal responses that include elements such as technical solution, staffing, implementation schedule, and BOE
• Providing expert technical writing capabilities in the development of technical artifacts, white papers, statements of work, briefings and proposals.
• Leading and mentoring junior staff in responding to RFI’s and RFP’s
• Working with teaming partners to develop technical solutions, integration of teaming partners’ capabilities, and pricing strategies, etc.
• Exploring new approaches/enabling technologies to drive solution innovation and improvements and ensure corporate solutions are relevant for current and emerging trends
• Contributing to the development of standard proposal-ready content (Gold Standard) for use in future proposal development efforts, capturing any new language written for addition to the proposal Gold Standard database.
• Supporting the capture of business and technical requirements and clearly convey them to audiences of varying technical skill levels.
• Working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment, completing multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.
10+ years of experience in federal contracting solutions development, including experience in technical architect roles or pursuit of complex federal proposals.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field (master’s degree preferred).
The proven ability to own one or more sections of a proposal across a diverse range of topics.
Experience architecting and implementing solutions in relevant domains (e.g., mission IT, systems engineering, cloud, cybersecurity, O&M, etc.).
Proven expertise in AI/ML platforms and tools.
Proven ability to write, review, direct, and craft proposal sections regardless of the discipline, technology, or requirements of those sections
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts, are crucial.
Preferred Certifications:
ITIL, or AWS Solutions Architect certifications.
Certifications in topic-specific areas such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, or project management (e.g., CISSP, PMP).

Compensation Details:
US:$180,000 and up DOE
