We’re looking for a skilled and customer-focused Computer User Support Specialist to join our team and support both employees and store operations.
Position Overview
The Computer User Support Specialist will provide technical assistance to store staff, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations of all computer systems and digital tools used within Metro by T-Mobile retail locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to employees for POS systems, computers, tablets, and mobile devices
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and applications
- Support Metro systems, sales tools, and internal platforms
- Train staff on basic system usage and troubleshooting best practices
- Maintain system security, updates, and backups
- Coordinate with IT teams or vendors for advanced technical issues
- Document issues, resolutions, and system updates
- Ensure minimal downtime and smooth store operations
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of experience in technical support, help desk, or IT support roles
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, basic networking, and troubleshooting
- Experience with POS systems or retail technology is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting retail or telecom environments
- Familiarity with mobile device troubleshooting (Android/iOS)
- Basic understanding of network setup (routers, Wi-Fi, connectivity)
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or similar are a plus
