Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Human Factors or a related field and 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a UX Research-related occupation.
- Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Human Factors or a related field, and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a UX Research-related occupation.Position requires 6 years of experience in the following:

- Conducting User Experience (UX) research for product development;
- Managing the research lifecycle from planning to communicating insights or Research program management;
- Data storytelling to influence stakeholder buy-in or Presenting research findings to executive leadership;
- Project or Program management within large, matrixed organizations; and
- Applying systems thinking to analyze organizational and technical problems.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000 - $274,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Position reports to the Google New York, NY office & may allow for a hybrid schedule as per Google policy.
Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and independently execute end to end user research studies, using qualitative and quantitative methods such as interviews, field studies, surveys, usability testing, and concept evaluations, to uncover user needs and behaviors, synthesize findings into actionable insights, and deliver data driven recommendations that directly inform product design, feature prioritization, and strategic business decisions.
- Lead vision and strategy discussions by analyzing user data and business needs to guide product development and shape future thinking
- Influence stakeholders across functions to build consensus and gain support for research-based, user-centric solutions
- Drive teams to define and evaluate product, service, and ecosystem impact by applying an advanced understanding of business goals and user trends
- Establish project priorities in alignment with larger goals, coordinating resource allocation and proactively removing cross-team roadblocks, and advocate for user-centric and inclusive research practices throughout the product lifecycle to solve complex problems and foster greater user empathy
