As Operations Technician I, II, or III, you will support pipeline and facility operations by safely operating, inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment. This is a progressive, multi-level role where scope, independence, and technical complexity increase by level. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, compliance, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities (All Levels)
- Safely operate, inspect, and maintain pipeline and facility equipment in compliance with operational, technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor equipment and facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safe work practices
- Maintain working knowledge of site-specific equipment, permits, and compliance requirements
- Complete assigned reports, logs, and maintain accurate operations and preventive maintenance records
- Protect personnel, communities, the environment, and company assets
- Coordinate work activities with contractors as needed, reinforcing safety expectations
- Perform damage prevention activities including pipeline locating, marking, and excavation coordination
- Support preventative and remedial maintenance activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Progressive Responsibilities by Level
Operations Technician I
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance with guidance
- Use hand tools and basic diagnostic equipment
- Develop foundational knowledge of process control systems, PLCs, and facility equipment
- Demonstrate ability to learn systems, procedures, and site operations
Operations Technician II
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Analyze operating data and collaborate to resolve technical or operational issues
- Perform intermediate troubleshooting and maintenance with limited supervision
- Apply working knowledge of process control systems and PLCs
Operations Technician III
- Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex operational and technical issues
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced technicians
- Lead or support complex maintenance activities and operational improvements
- Apply advanced knowledge of process control systems, PLCs, and site-specific equipment
Education & Experience
Required (All Levels):
- High School Diploma or GED
Level-Specific Experience (commensurate with level):
Technical Skills
- Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs):
- Technician I: Basic
- Technician II: Working proficiency
- Technician III: Advanced proficiency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general PC skills
- Comfortable adopting technology and applications to improve operational efficiency
- Operate, start, stop, and monitor natural gas compression units
- Maintain compressors, turbines, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and measurement systems
- Execute calibrations and inspections on instrumentation, control systems, PLCs, and electrical systems (VAC/VDC)
- Perform right-of-way activities, including valve maintenance and pipeline locating
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, loud environments, and enclosed spaces
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; team lift heavier loads as needed
- Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat for extended periods
- Work at elevated levels using ladders, scaffolding, man lifts, or towers with appropriate PPE
- Use hand and power tools safely
Shift, Schedule & Travel
- Available for after-hours work, on-call rotations, nights, weekends, and holidays as required
- Willingness to work overtime and 10–12 hour shifts
- Travel between company locations may be required, with occasional overnight stays

- Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
