Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role supports day‑to‑day facility functionality through preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on equipment, machinery, and building systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to diagnose and resolve issues
- Complete work orders accurately and timely using a maintenance management system (CMMS), if applicable
- Conduct inspections to identify safety hazards and maintenance needs
- Repair or replace faulty components, parts, and systems
- Support facility upkeep including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and structural repairs as needed
- Follow safety procedures, OSHA standards, and company policies
- Assist with installation, modification, or upgrades of equipment and systems
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors when necessary
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training preferred
- [2–5]+ years of maintenance or technician experience in a similar environment
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and basic plumbing systems
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to lift up to [50–75] lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
- Basic computer skills; CMMS experience a plus
- Preferred Skills & Experience
- EPA, HVAC, electrical, or industrial maintenance certifications
- Experience in [manufacturing / warehouse / facilities / property management] environment
- Welding, fabrication, or PLC knowledge
- Forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift certification
