Operating Engineer (HVAC Technician)- JLL
What this job involves:
As an Operating Engineer (HVAC Technician) at our Procter & Gamble facility in Mason, OH, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the complex systems that keep this facility running at peak performance. This position puts you at the center of our Engineering Services team, where you'll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of HVAC and electrical equipment throughout the building's interior and exterior. You'll work hands-on with refrigeration systems, heat exchangers, electrical systems, and water systems, conducting routine assessments and analyzing data to ensure everything functions properly. What your day-to-day will look like:
• Maintain and repair refrigeration, kitchen equipment, heat exchangers, HVAC, electrical, and water systems throughout the facility
• Monitor, operate, and adjust refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning equipment, ventilating and hot water heaters, pumps, valves, piping, and filters
• Perform preventive maintenance on all base building and critical system equipment, assembling necessary tools and completing work with minimal disruption to operations
• Conduct routine rounds, record system readings, analyze operational data, and determine the cause of issues to take corrective action
• Complete work orders, maintain communication logs, document equipment repairs, and track time accurately in the CMMS
• Maintain tools, order supplies as required for installations and repairs, and report supply shortages or equipment problems to leadership
• Ensure compliance with departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workspace
Required qualifications:
• High school diploma or state equivalent, plus minimum of four years of related trade schooling or two years of college
• Minimum 5 years' experience in HVAC trade or related field, OR minimum 5 years' experience in refrigeration trade or related field
• EPA 608 certification
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and equipment manuals
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with mechanical and electrical systems
• Effective communication skills and ability to document work accurately and thoroughly
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing packaged air handlers and lab equipment
• Experience working with building automation systems (Siemens, Johnson Controls, etc.) for control of building HVAC systems
• Experience troubleshooting kitchen equipment, ice machines, and refrigeration systems
• Skilled in use of tools and machinery required by the position
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and local building codes
• Familiarity with computer equipment, programs, and CMMS work order systems
• Willingness to complete training and qualification related to client programs, including Client Electrical System Owner (ESO), Thermal/Combustion Safety Program, and Process Safety Programs within one year of start date (training, materials, resources, and time will be provided)

Schedule: M-F 40 hours per week
