We are seeking a motivated scientist to join the Cell Line Development (CLD) team as a contract based postdoctoral scientist focusing on designing and implementing innovative strategies to engineer and evaluate host cell lines, including leading studies that integrate synthetic biology approaches into the CLD workflow. The selected candidate will also evaluate emerging technologies to enhance cell line productivity and product quality through advanced synthetic biology and multiomics methods. This position offers significant cross functional collaboration with discovery research, upstream and downstream process development, and analytical development. Initial appointment is for one year, with the option to extend for an additional year pending performance review.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Cell Line Engineering projects to improve productivity and product quality.
- Collaborate closely with upstream, downstream and analytical development
- Present research findings to internal stakeholders and upper management. Prepare technical writing for development reports and regulatory filing support. Publish/ present findings at external forums and journals
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation.
Qualifications And Experience
- Required PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Cell Biology, or Molecular Cell Engineering with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience in Mammalian cell line development including transfection, single cell cloning, and evaluation of clones in small scale bioreactors.
- Hands-on experience carrying out genome and expression engineering: CRISPR based editing for knockouts and overexpression.
- Experience leveraging multiomics platforms i.e., Transcriptomic (RNA?seq) Proteomic and Metabolomics
- Familiarity with AI/ML?aided feature selection, pathway analysis, and integration of omics datasets to identify engineering targets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects including design, execution and interpretation of complex datasets using statistical analyses.
- Strong documentation practices, scientific oral and written communication skills with proven track record of publishing work in scientific journals.
