Job Summary:
Performs work in the maintenance and service of various mechanical and electrical systems and equipment at the assigned facility. Such work includes, but is not limited to, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, kitchen equipment, hot-water generation equipment, refrigeration equipment, machine tools, and motor and control systems.
Primary Job Functions:
- Performs welding repairs; shall have a C-60 Welding License or appropriate American Welding Society, Inc. (AWS) certification or equivalent. As a minimum, welding shall comply with the American Welding Society, Inc., AWS D1.1, Structural Welding Code.
- Performs general maintenance and repairs of installed equipment and systems, including all aspects of plumbing, compressed gas systems, pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, and electrical motors
- Performs or assists in the performance of the following: rebuilding pumps and compressors, replacing bearings and seals, repairing or replacing plumbing systems or components, installing threaded or sweated pipe segments, repairing or replacing refrigeration components, and performing maintenance of installed irrigation systems
- Performs preventative maintenance as assigned
- Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education, Experience and Certification:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Technical or Trade Certificate in Related field.
Required: 5 years of experience performing the work of a maintenance mechanic.
Required: Certification to weld in multiple processes, including MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), Stick (SMAW), and FLUX COR (FCAW).
Required: Certification of C-60 Welding License or appropriate American Welding Society, Inc. (AWS) certification or equivalent. As a minimum, welding shall comply with the American Welding Society, Inc., AWS D1.1, Structural Welding Code.
Working Conditions:
- Regular exposure to extreme temperatures, wet and/or humid conditions, electric shock, moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles, loud noises, chemicals, etc.
- Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, reaching, and use of hands; regularly lifting and/or moving up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs.
- Requires the use of hand and power tools applicable to the trade
- Ability to maneuver a job site, including small spaces around our equipment
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- General knowledge of hand and power tools
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to successfully pass a government background screen for admittance to the job site
