As a Facilities Operations Technician V – Electrical, you will lead and guide the reliability, safety, and lifecycle performance of mission-critical electrical systems within hyperscale data centers. In this role, you will apply advanced technical expertise to solve complex issues, support high-impact events, and help guide upgrades, standards, and operational improvements that protect uptime.

This position requires U.S. citizenship and is located onsite in Saline, Michigan. Relocation assistance may be available in accordance with Oracle's relocation policies.
Define, maintain, and improve electrical standards for high-availability infrastructure, including switchgear, UPS, batteries, generators, grounding, and distribution systems.
Lead complex troubleshooting, power quality analysis, incident investigations, and root cause analysis for high-impact or recurring events.
Provide technical guidance for upgrades, retrofits, and expansions, including design review, commissioning support, and operational acceptance processes.
Partner with site operations teams to improve maintainability, safe execution of work, and documentation quality, including procedures, one-lines, settings, and test plans.
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, such as utilities and vendors, and ensure alignment with applicable codes and standards including NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, and local requirements.
Extensive (5-7+ years) experience with mission-critical electrical systems in data centers, utilities, industrial environments, or other high-availability facilities.
Strong understanding of power distribution, electrical protection concepts, system reliability, and operational risk.
Preferred Skills / Certifications
Deep experience with critical electrical infrastructure including switchgear, UPS, batteries, generators, protection systems, and site distribution.
Experience reviewing switching procedures, maintenance strategies, commissioning plans, and incident response documentation.
OEM or manufacturer certifications/training on critical power systems, relays, UPS, generators, or switchgear strongly preferred.
Schneider Electric, Eaton, ABB, Siemens, Vertiv, or similar advanced equipment training is a plus.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
This is a mission-critical role supporting 24/7 operations where 100% uptime is essential; as such, regular attendance and flexibility for shift-based schedules are required. To perform these duties, you must be able to frequently walk, bend, kneel, crouch, push/pull objects, and climb stairs. You will be required to lift or move up to 39 pounds independently and participate in group lifts for loads 40 pounds or greater. Additionally, you must be capable of maintaining balance while working from a ladder or elevated platforms. These tasks are performed in an industrial environment and must be executed safely, with or without reasonable accommodation, to maintain the continuous health of the facility infrastructure.
