Requisition Job Description
As an Rx Automation Mechanic, you will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, change control, testing, and process improvement of automated prescription dispensing and fulfillment systems. Additionally, you will assist in the support and training of pharmacy staff and operators to meet production goals as well as quality expectations.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned automated pharmacy dispensing equipment which include electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, control (PLC), robotic, barcode, label printing, computer, networking, and conveyor systems.
- Timely completion and work order documentation of all corrective and preventative maintenance tasks and materials using CMMS software.
- Maintain parts inventories and correspond with suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of necessary components.
- Oversee vendor support of facility air compressors and generators.
- Repair/refurbish heat presses and equipment within a respective service area.
- Support pharmacy automation remotely through a rotating on-call schedule.
- Notify the Manager of any concerns regarding major repairs needed or any additional equipment needed to support the pharmacy automation equipment, or to maintain a clean and safe work area for all employees.
- Partner with automation operators and vendors to address and minimize faults and errors resulting in inefficient utilization of the equipment.
- Assist with training on use of automation equipment and completion of competency and safety assessments in conjunction with site leadership.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation in strict accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's) and site policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled automation systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, prints, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with robotics systems.
- Experience with industrial label printers.
- Familiarity with Omron/Adept and GE Fanuc robots.
- Experience with any work-order based preventive maintenance management system.
- Ability to perform basic networking tasks and troubleshooting.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
- Must be willing to travel up to 40%.
- Must be available for rotating on-call support.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associates degree with a preference in automation, or 2 additional years of equivalent experience.

The typical pay range for this role is:
$22.59 - $49.04
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
