Overview
The Parking Garage Porter/Ambassador is responsible for performing routine cleaning, ensuring smooth traffic flow, and customer service functions within assigned parking facilities. This role supports ABM’s commitment to operational excellence by ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for clients, tenants, and guests.

Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of parking garages, including ramps, parking decks, stairwells, elevators, entry/exit lanes, and surrounding areas
- Perform sweeping, mopping, power washing, and debris removal in accordance with ABM standards
- Remove trash, litter, and hazardous materials; empty waste receptacles and replace liners
- Clean up oil spills and stains using proper equipment and cleaning solutions
- Conduct routine inspections to identify safety hazards, maintenance issues, or security concerns; report findings to supervisor promptly
- Ensure signage, payment machines, and access points are clean and presentable
- Support preventive maintenance activities in coordination with site management
- Adhere strictly to ABM safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and PPE requirements
- Provide courteous, professional customer service when interacting with parkers and clients
- Greet customers and direct vehicles to available parking spaces
- Issue tickets or tags and process payments accurately
- Monitor parking areas for security, safety, and compliance
- Assist customers with inquiries, directions, and minor vehicle issues
- Maintain cleanliness and report any hazards or equipment malfunctions
- Support traffic control during peak hours or special events
- Assist with special projects or additional tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications
Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous janitorial, porter, or facilities maintenance experience preferred
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and reliability
• Must be dependable and able to work independently or as part of a team
Physical Requirments:
• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and work in confined or open-air environments
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and exposure to vehicle fumes
