Security System Technician III (embedded)
The purpose of embedding dedicated personnel at Data Center locations performing technician services is to efficiently address system health issues. The role of the Security Systems Technician III includes the
following:
• Security Systems Maintenance, Support, and Installation Services:
o Engage, support, and coordinate with partner teams in all physical security systems related
activities.
o Maintain the overall health of the deployed security system.
o Maintain documentation and information related to the deployed security system.
o Design, deploy, and manage commissioning of small installations in coordination with internal
supporting teams and documentation.
o Maintain and enforce installation standards across the deployed security systems.
o Manage, develop, and maintain critical spares and local inventory in coordination with global
teams.
Responsibilities:
• Triage issues with security hardware devices such as but not limited to: Card Readers, ACS
Controllers, Remote Door Modules (RM4E), Request to Exit Devices, Door Position Switches,
Cameras, Encoders, Fiber Converters, POE Converters, ICAM Units, Key-Boxes, etc.
• Troubleshooting, repair and replacement of said devices are direct responsibilities of the onsite
technician.
• Responsible for preventative Maintenance of CCTV cameras to ensure that lenses/domes are free of
debris, ensure cameras are in focus and field of view is directed at the area of interest.
• Provides training on new security technologies implemented in the DC to DCOPS and local security
team.
• Responsible for self-generated work tickets. Ensures all assigned work tickets are up to date and
documented with work completed, future actions required and detailed resolutions.
• Responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of Security related replacement parts and material.
• Responsible for Adherence to security related best practices, standards and quality control.
Qualifications: At a minimum, Security System technicians shall achieve and/or maintain the certification levels, as stated below. The systems below may be phased in or out of the Program, but any new system certification levels will be agreed upon at the time of phase in.
Safety Training (EHS Compliance)
o OSHA 10 Hour Certified
o CPR Certified
o Aerial platform Certified
o Ladder Safety Awareness Training
• Industry Training
o CCure 9000 Installer/Maintainer Certified
o IP based CCTV – trained or equivalent experience
o Cisco Certified – Technician Baseline networking knowledge (preferred/not required)
o Traka Keybox – Key management trained or equivalent experience
o SightLogix (and other equivalent security systems) – perimeter intrusion detection trained or
equivalent experience
o IRIS ID/Alcatraz AI – biometrics system trained or equivalent experience
Experience: Must have 5-7 years of experience as a security systems technician. At least 2 years of experience working with CCure hardware.
