Position Summary
The Manager of Business Strategy is a part of the Price and Value Org and is responsible for analyzing discount strategies to create clear, compelling, profitable promotions across the business. This includes organizing and prioritizing key areas of focus to facilities efficient decision making. The Manager will also be responsible for sizing, forecasting, and reporting of promotional initiatives to inform decisioning on scope and scaling. They will provide guidance and direction to category managers and be a thought leader in cross-function partner discussions. This role will also include deriving insights from large sets of data and presenting findings to leadership on a regular basis. This is a strategy and analytics intensive role with the ability to not only uncover discounting opportunities but work cross-functionally to build an executable plan.
This role requires strong analytical skills, comfort with large data sets, excellent communication, and the ability to influence cross-functionally. It offers significant exposure to Category Managers, Merchandising Directors, and partners across Merchandising and Analytics.
Primary Responsibilities
- Developing the current and future-state roadmap and deliverables for Price Value Innovation.
- Leverage best-in‑in‑class analytics tools to tailor discounting strategies to the category and consumer’s needs.
- Identify, develop, size, and execute new opportunities to drive business growth
- Oversee and support the workload and priorities across the team.
- Lead strategic meetings with CMs and cross-functional teams.
- Building test plans for pricing and promo strategies and develop measurement methodologies to size the impact.
- Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of working in consulting, retail, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience with MS of Excel, including ability to construct and manipulate pivot tables, financial models, and advanced experience with Excel functions (e.g., v lookup, index, match, etc.)
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives that have significant financial impact.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to synthesize facts and insights into concrete, actionable strategies, and tactical plans.
- Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Results driven, with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong cross-boundary abilities with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively across organizational boundaries.

- Knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a P&L

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$66,330.00 - $145,860.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
