Job Description
As a Researcher you will aid in the production of the daily broadcast. You will work directly with the editorial team of the 3rd Hour of TODAY.
Job Duties:
- Working directly with producers on segments
- Gathering elements and working with an editor
- Have strong editorial judgement
- Aid in scheduling meetings and production paperwork for senior editorial staff when needed
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and on a team
- Awareness of NBC News programs, on-air correspondents, policies, guidelines and practices.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news and current events.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels of management
- Flexible, organized, self-starter, and extremely detail-oriented – able to seek out answers and resources on own
Qualifications
- At least one year of news production and/or administrative experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Exceptional computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and social media
- Must be willing to work flexible hours under tight deadline pressure - including breaking news situations - with availability for overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Willing and able to work in New York City
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and on a team
- Must be willing to adhere to all Company workplace safety policies and protocols
Desired Characteristics:
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize and juggle numerous projects and deadlines in an extremely fast-paced and high-volume environment
- Proactive thinker with understanding of how to apply data
- Awareness of NBC News programs, on-air correspondents, policies, guidelines and practices
- Knowledge of iNews, VPost and and editing software
- Strong interest in News & News Events

Salary Range: $26.00/hr - $31.00/hr
