TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for an HR Administrative Assistant working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.
SHIFT: Monday-Friday, days
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the department in carrying out various HR programs and procedures for all company employees
- Assist with all aspect of recruitment (respond to employment inquiries, post new positions on various websites, assist in review of incoming resumes, coordinate candidate interviews/drug screens/physicals and check references)
- Assist with administering and/or facilitating new hires including preparation of offer letters and new hire packets, processing paperwork, and assisting in onboarding of new employees.
- Attend career fairs to help grow the company’s talent pipeline
- Conduct internal audits within the Human Resource programs and recommend/facilitate corrective actions
- Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or request and provide assistance
- Redirect HR related calls or distribute correspondence to the appropriate team member
- Coordinate training sessions and seminars
- Sort and deliver daily departmental mail
- Assist HR Generalist with administration of unemployment matters
- Assist with new employee orientation
- Provider back-up coverage for front desk
- Assist with benefit administration as needed
- Support other functions as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general ed degree
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field
- Able to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities
- Workday experience is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (word, excel, powerpoint, outlook)
- Ability to share knowledge and work in a strong team oriented environment
- Able to work with minimal supervision
