Facilities Maintenance Supervisor – JLL
What this job involves:
As a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor at JLL, you will lead 2nd shift maintenance operations for a critical manufacturing facility in Pontiac, MI, ensuring operational excellence through proactive team leadership, strategic process improvement, and unwavering commitment to safety and quality standards. This role places you at the forefront of facility performance, where you'll supervise a skilled maintenance team, implement cost-saving initiatives, and partner with senior leadership to drive continuous improvement programs that directly impact client satisfaction and operational efficiency. What your day-to-day will look like:
• Conduct comprehensive facility inspections at shift start, review maintenance logs from previous shifts, and prioritize corrective actions based on criticality and resource availability to ensure seamless operational continuity
• Supervise maintenance team personnel in executing priority tasks, manage attendance and payroll processes, schedule overtime strategically, and conduct weekly staff meetings to communicate priorities and performance expectations
• Maintain facility standards that consistently meet or exceed JLL and client requirements through proactive quality management, compliance monitoring, and adherence to audit standards
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures for maintenance and housekeeping operations, create inventory control systems for parts and supplies, and design innovative programs that reduce operating costs while increasing productivity
• Collaborate regularly with Facility Manager, Business Performance Manager, and cross-functional teams to discuss project status, resolve operational issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Oversee training programs to ensure team compliance with JLL and client safety requirements, focusing on operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and technical skill development
• Provide weekly site status reports, communicate action items to stakeholders, and deliver relief coverage for Housekeeping and Fleet Managers during training periods and vacations as needed
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years of facilities maintenance experience in corporate environments, third-party service providers, manufacturing facilities, or consulting roles
• Proven supervisory experience leading maintenance teams and managing shift operations with demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and maintain quality standards
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to develop standard operating procedures, inventory control systems, and process improvement initiatives
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting, stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration
• Proficiency in maintenance management systems (CMMS preferred) and standard business software applications
• Ability to work 2nd shift hours consistently and respond to emergency situations with flexible availability when needed
• Physical capability to walk, stand, climb stairs for extended periods during facility inspections, and work in varying environmental conditions (temperature fluctuations, noise, indoor/outdoor settings)
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5+ years of facilities maintenance experience in industrial, manufacturing, or automotive facility environments with understanding of production support requirements
• Experience implementing preventive maintenance programs using CMMS platforms (Maximo, Corrigo, or similar systems) for work order management and documentation
• Certification in facilities management (CFM), HVAC, electrical, mechanical systems, or related technical certifications demonstrating specialized expertise
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, or other continuous improvement frameworks applied to maintenance operations
• Experience working with automotive manufacturing clients or third-party facilities management providers serving industrial accounts
• Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) to effectively communicate with diverse maintenance teams and facility occupants
• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related technical field
