Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Strategy and Partnership Analyst at IBM Ventures, the venture capital arm of IBM, you will operate at the nexus of startups, enterprise innovation, and investment strategy. In this role, you will work directly with founders, investors, and senior IBM stakeholders to accelerate the growth and impact of both IBM Ventures and its portfolio companies.
You will help position IBM Ventures as a differentiated thought leader, both internally and externally, while driving strategic engagement across IBM’s business units. A core focus of the role is post-investment value creation: partnering with founders to unlock the full power of IBM’s technology platform, global ecosystem, and customer relationships to scale innovation and drive commercial outcomes.
Acting as a connector, strategist, and advocate, you will bridge startups with enterprise opportunity, facilitating collaboration, accelerating go-to-market pathways, and amplifying the strategic impact of IBM Ventures across the broader technology landscape.
- Founder & Portfolio Support: Build strong relationships with founders and help them navigate IBM’s resources, technology, and teams.
- Business Connectivity: Provide insights and themes to IBM business units on emerging market themes identified by IBM Ventures
- Partnership Support: Support strategic partnerships to drive growth across the startup ecosystem.
- Partnership Development: Identify and facilitate opportunities for collaboration among portfolio companies, IBM business units, and enterprise customers.
- Marketing & Communications: Support press, content, and visibility efforts, including announcements, storytelling, and digital presence.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to quickly learn and clearly articulate complex concepts
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving, dynamic environment
- Strategic thinking and structured problem solving, with the ability to synthesize market trends, startup dynamics, and enterprise priorities into clear, actionable strategies. This includes evaluating opportunities, identifying partnership pathways, and translating complex ideas into business impact
- Stakeholder engagement & relationship management, with a proven ability to build and navigate relationships across founders, investors, and senior enterprise leaders.
- Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Experience in research, business development, client management, corporate partnerships, sales, marketing, or related roles
- Experience working in venture capital, corporate venture capital, start-up ecosystem, or a startup
- Strong understanding of technology trends, start-up ecosystems, innovation models, and business strategy.
