Leidos Defense Sensors is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Site Activation Lead to support execution of complex radar modernization and site deployment activities across multiple operational locations. This position will lead and coordinate cross-functional engineering teams responsible for site surveys, site activation planning, installation readiness, and deployment execution activities in support of large-scale system integration efforts.
The selected candidate will serve as the primary lead for site activation planning and coordination, ensuring alignment between engineering, manufacturing, logistics, construction, installation, cybersecurity, and program management teams. The role requires strong leadership, technical coordination, organizational planning, and customer interface skills to ensure site activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with program requirements.
This role will also support program execution activities including schedule coordination, risk management, technical planning, subcontractor integration, and customer engagement throughout all phases of site activation and deployment.

Primary Responsibilities
Lead and organize cross-functional engineering teams performing site surveys and site activation activities at customer locations.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee development of site survey reports, installation plans, activation schedules, and deployment readiness documentation.
Interface with Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Facilities, Security, and Customer representatives to ensure successful site activation execution.
Coordinate site-specific technical requirements, infrastructure assessments, environmental considerations, and installation constraints.
Support development and execution of integrated site deployment schedules and milestone tracking activities.
Identify and manage site activation risks, dependencies, resource requirements, and critical path activities.
Lead technical planning discussions and gate reviews associated with site readiness, installation planning, and operational turnover.
Coordinate subcontractors, field support personnel, and external vendors supporting installation and activation efforts.
Support program management activities including status reporting, staffing coordination, execution planning, and customer briefings.
Drive issue resolution and cross-functional coordination to minimize impacts to schedule, cost, and operational readiness.
Support development of deployment strategies, installation sequencing, transportation planning, and on-site integration activities.
Ensure compliance with customer requirements, safety standards, security requirements, and quality processes during site execution activities.
Mentor and guide junior engineers and site support personnel in deployment planning and execution best practices.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 8–12 years of prior relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6–10 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience leading complex site activation, deployment, installation, or field integration activities in defense, aerospace, industrial, or large-scale technical programs.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and field execution activities.
Strong understanding of installation planning, field operations, system integration, and deployment logistics.
Experience developing technical reports, installation documentation, and operational readiness plans.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Ability to travel as required to support site surveys, customer engagements, and deployment activities.
Must be a US citizen possess or able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, area
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting radar systems, missile defense programs, integrated air and missile defense systems, or other complex defense platforms.
Familiarity with military installation environments, operational site constraints, and government site activation processes.
Experience supporting construction coordination, facility integration, infrastructure upgrades, or environmental site assessments.
Experience with Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS), risk management, and program execution processes.
Familiarity with manufacturing integration, system test activities, and operational acceptance processes.
Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and geographically distributed teams.
PMP certification or equivalent project/program management training is a plus.
Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Jira, Confluence, or related execution management tools.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
