Role Summary
- The Specialist, Grant Operations, Patient Engagement, position resides in the Value & Implementation (V&I) organization, which includes Global Medical and Scientific Affairs as well as Outcomes Research.
- This position is a member of the Patient Insights & Engagement (PI&E) Grant Operations team and supports initiatives that advance PI&E deliverables, strategies and priorities. Under the direction of the Associate Director and Team Leader of Strategy Execution and Grant Operations, this position will manage and execute U.S. and Global Independent Patient Advocacy, Charitable, and PI&E Non-Continuing Education (CE) Grant processing from initiation through close-out.
Responsibilities And Primary Activities
- Supports collaboration with external U.S. and Global Patient Advocacy stakeholders, as well as company personnel such as Legal, Compliance, and PI&E, to help ensure timely and accurate grant proposal submission and processing.
- Assists with independent grant processing, including compliance and quality review, contracting coordination, vendor management, payments, reconciliation, outcomes tracking, and close-out activities.
- Supports maintenance of grant programs and serves as a resource for standard procedures, templates, and process guidance.
- Partners and support PI&E team and engagement coordinators and PI&E engagement activities as needed.
- Ensures work is completed in accordance with existing guidelines, company policies, and applicable legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
- Partners with stakeholders across U.S. and Global business areas, Compliance, and Legal to help improve and simplify policies, guidance, and processes for operational effectiveness.
- Supports grant management system troubleshooting, updates, and coordination with the external vendor as needed.
- Helps maintain grant applications, forms, templates, workflows, trackers, and related operational resources.
- Assists in the coordination of concurrent projects and project execution to help ensure patient organization needs are met in a timely and compliant manner.
- Supports the Associate Director and team members with project management activities and operational follow-up.
- Assists with routine and ad hoc reporting for Patient Engagement, including transparency, budget, payments, vetting, outcomes, and grant data.
- Supports response preparation for internal audits, external inspections, and compliance monitoring activities, and assists with remediation actions as needed.
- Applies problem-solving skills to identify and help resolve operational issues.
- Communicates clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders, delivering information with tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment.
- Understands and complies with internal and external standards, including company policies, SOPs, ethical requirements, legal requirements, and promotion compliance standards.
Required Qualifications, Skills And Experience
Minimum
- BA/BS degree preferred.
- Two+ years of experience in U.S. and Global grant management in pharmaceutical or biotech industry or related relevant experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Strong communication, strategic thinking, and time management skills.
- Ability to anticipate system and process needs and identify solutions to streamline and ensure compliance.
- Proven ability to innovate and adapt to changing internal and external conditions.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to prioritize tasks appropriately to ensure timely and quality grant processing as well as a positive and enhanced internal and external stakeholder experience.
- Basic understanding of compliance principles and ability to follow industry regulations, standards, and Company-guiding principles.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and cross-functional management skills.
Preferred
- Two or more years of relevant Patient Advocacy experience.
- Degree in science, business, health care, or related field.

The salary range for this role is
$96,200.00 - $151,400.00
This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
