About The Role
We are seeking a research professional to support US Multifamily Research as a key member of the Investor Research group. The Multifamily Research Analyst will be responsible for supporting analysis and delivering high-quality research outputs in support of thought leadership for the sector. Working under the direction of the Head of Multifamily Research, important areas of focus will include maintaining and analyzing multifamily market data, producing sector research, and contributing to the appropriate channels for distribution of research outputs.
This role will support the preparation of research deliverables and client-facing materials under the guidance of senior leadership. You will work alongside Multifamily Investment Properties and Valuation to support a comprehensive plan of outputs and contribute to innovative approaches to explain market conditions in the context of real estate.
What You’ll Do
Research & Analysis: Under the direction of the Head of Multifamily Research, support analysis of the Multifamily market and contribute to data-driven insights. Assist in the delivery of current Multifamily sector outputs, including presentations, reports, and data visualizations, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Market Intelligence: Support CBRE’s competitive differentiation by utilizing internal and external multifamily, financial and economic data sources to contribute to market analysis and insights.
Digital Innovation and Analytics: In collaboration with the forecasting functions, utilize proprietary analytics platforms to support the delivery of Multifamily Research outputs.
Cross Team Collaboration: Work within a broader research team to ensure data and narratives are consistent across the platform. Provide analytical support to market and investment themes identified by senior leadership.
Business Support: Support CBRE Multifamily business leaders with analytical deliverables and data-driven insights to inform client engagements and transaction support, as directed by the Head of Multifamily Research.
Output Delivery: Assist in producing research reports, presentations, and data visualizations in support of CBRE’s Multifamily research program, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, real estate, or a related discipline
- 1–3 years of experience as an economist or researcher in the private sector
- Basic understanding of commercial real estate, particularly multifamily
- Ability to identify and communicate key trends affecting real estate and industry decision-makers
- Strong writing and quantitative skills (advanced Excel); familiarity with R or Python is a plus
- Experience working with consumer and housing data sources, including Census
- Ability to communicate research findings clearly to internal and external audiences
- Strong presentation skills
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively in a structured environment
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and good time management skills

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Multifamily Research Analyst position is $75,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Multifamily Research Analyst position is $85,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
