On Site : This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Defense Production Facility in Concord, North Carlina on a full-time basis (shift is four 10's, Monday - Thursday).

The Role:

This role supports vehicle engineering in the implementation of quality requirements. The successful candidate will help monitor consistency to Global Metric Definitions and performance, maintain documentation for Launch Manufacturing Quality Readiness Reviews, and actively participate in Plant Quality Manager Meetings and Launch Quality Manager Meetings. This individual will support projects as assigned by the Quality Shop Director.
The role requires a solid understanding of the elements of the GM Quality System, GMS BIQ, and the Quality Launch Plan, along with working knowledge of the requirements in the Global Quality Manual. The candidate should be able to support coaching, training, and auditing activities related to the GM Quality Manual and GMS BIQ principles and elements. They should also be able to communicate clear problem definitions, support resolution of technical issues, and provide regular updates on progress to plant and engineering teams. This role will also support launch activities for new products when applicable, maintain updates to quality requirements, track plant deviations, and support cost of quality reporting by plant.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
- Interact with Production and Engineering teams to identify and implement solutions to issues impacting the Vehicle Assembly Plant and final customer
- Support effective containment and resolution of identified non-conforming product
- Communicate emerging issues for responsible components to affected teams on a regular basis
- Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified spills
- Validate supplier scrap
- Work with the SPPS process on supplier-related issues
- Support the PTR process by running PTRs and evaluating impact on the product and function
- Support launch activities for new products
- Support the implementation and effective adherence to all elements within GMS and IATF
- Carries out other job-related duties as needed or as assigned.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline or related field or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Candidate must either be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee) or a non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required export control authorization.
- Strong analytical ability to solve moderately complex problems
- Demonstrated technical and professional skills in a job-related area
- Proficient in reading part drawings and interpreting part measurements
