As a Principal Systems Engineer and the authority in Survivability Engineering, you will support the System Engineering (SE) Special Disciplines and other integrated product area organizations in one or more of the following areas:
• Applying advanced concepts in electrical, electronics and physics disciplines to execute various tasks related to Survivability engineering specialty.
• Ensuring that military space vehicle and missile designs, from the component level to the system level, will meet performance requirements during and after exposure to specified environments, including natural space and man-made radiation environments.
• Conducting technical planning, specification requirements derivation, modeling and analysis, design, test planning and execution, documentation, requirements verification/validation to support overall system needs and act as technical consultant for management and customers
• Will join the enterprise Survivability Engineering group, will be partnered with other authorities, mentor and lead peers
• Serving in a key technical lead role, independently and leading other team members, in executing Survivability tasks, driving timely high quality results, while maintaining collaboration across both the Survivability team and the greater FBM program.
• Mentoring junior engineers within Survivability Engineering.
This position may require occasional travel at various periods of time based on program lifecycle and need for presenting material to Program or Customer.

• Experience conducting radiation assessments and analyses
• Possesses technical knowledge, depth and breadth, related to spacecraft / missile development lifecycle and requirements compliance.
• Active or Current Secret Security Clearance with willingness/eligibility to obtain a Top Secret Security clearance; US Citizenship Required
Desired Skills:• Advance Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar area of study
• 12+ years combined expertise in Natural Space Radiation and Man-Made environments and Engineering
• Experience with Radiation software tools (e.g., MCNP, NOVICE, Srim/Trim, Novice/Geant4, Creme96, Creme-mc, Shieldose, Spenvis, Omere, Ap8/Ap8, and Ap9/Ae9)
• Experience working in Radiation test facilities [e.g., test labs in universities such as University of California at Davis, Texas A&M, Indiana University Cyclotron Facility (IUCF), Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL)]]
• Experience with Piece-part radiation testing, performance, and reliability
• Experience with Electrical Engineering simulation/modeling tools (e.g. PSpice, etc) and software tools for performing EE and mathematical analysis (e.g. Matlab, etc)
• Knowledge or experience in the following relevant subject areas: Propulsion, Ordnance, Mechanical Structures, Avionics Electronics, Navigation, Guidance & Control, Missile Performance, Materials & Processes, EEE parts, Flight Software, Reliability, Safety, Support Equipment
• Electronic, electrical, electromechanical and electrooptical (EEEE) components
• Experience working and collaborating with peers and senior material specialists from within and outside the engineering group
• Lead anomaly resolution teams
• Be organized and is able to effectively multi-task in a dynamic, fast paced environment
• Be recognized as an authority in systems thinking techniques with the demonstrated ability to apply them to a wide range of sophisticated problems and train others in their application
• Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems Engineering
• Experience with military and technical requirements/specifications
• Experience participating in major program reviews (SRR, PDR, ETC)
• Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in multi-functional teams, integration across teams, build strong professional relationships with team members and build consensus among peers
• Experience in briefing results to customers and senior leadership
• Active or Current Top Secret clearance

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $151,200 - $266,570. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
