Join a team of Research, Design, Test, & Evaluation (RDT&E) professionals who are identifying, developing, demonstrating, and assessing technologies and concepts to help protect America’s homeland in support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Office of Mission and Capability Support (MCS).
Purpose/Scope:
Amentum is seeking a Logistician to provides essential logistical support for operational activities through expert management of supplies, equipment, and facilities. This position requires technical expertise in logistics operations, inventory control, procurement processes, and property management. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in transforming current logistics practices into streamlined digital processes within a prototype logistics application that enhances operational readiness, accountability, and efficiency to meet DHS Component R&D operational priorities.
The position is required to work in a Amentum warehouse in Lorton, Virginia on a daily basis, but may have opportunities for telework when tasking allows.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise to establish standardized logistics, supply chain, and facilities management processes across DHS components to inform the development of prototype logistics application
- Design inventory control and records management methodologies that can be translated into digital workflows.
- Evaluate supplier integration capabilities and develop specifications for a procurement module that connects requesters directly with approved vendors through automated processes.
- Define operational requirements for an end-to-end supply lifecycle management system covering ordering, receiving, inventorying, transferring, and excessing of supplies and equipment.
- Develop standardized property reporting templates and digital forms to ensure consistent data collection and compliance with organizational policies.
- Create audit protocols and verification procedures that can be incorporated into automated quality control features.
- Establish data analytics requirements and reporting metrics to support dashboard development, decision-making tools, and resource allocation features.
- Design processes for tracking damaged equipment, scheduling repairs, and monitoring maintenance activities to be incorporated into the application's asset management module.
Minimum Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship
- Must be able to pass DHS entry on duty (EOD) requirements to start and maintain Public Trust suitability status
- 5+ years’ experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related operations
- Excellent skills in MicroSoft (MS) Excel. Knowledge of MS project and MS Access.
- Demonstrated experience conducting inventories and managing property records
- Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management
- Experience with logistics or inventory management systems
- Experience verifying and processing essential shipping documents including bills of lading and invoices
- Experience with schedule, prepare, and brief incoming and outgoing shipments on a regular basis
- Experience with preparing specialized electronic equipment (CUAS Sensors) for transportation to testing events including palletization, wrapping, binding / securing.
- Understanding and preparing Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 Lbs.
- May require occasional travel.
Preferred Qualififcations:
- Active Public Trust designation
- Active security clearance
- Leverage specialized knowledge in Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (CUAS) is desired.
- Knowledge of DHS operations and policy is desired.
- Knowledge of federal acquisition regulations and government procurement processes
- Experience with property auditing and financial reconciliation
- Experience supporting law enforcement or homeland security operations
- Recent Certifications for DOT Hazmat Certifications and Requirements; DHS Safety Regulations and Risk Assessments; OSHA 1910.178 Compliance: Forklift Operations
Compensation Details:
$80,000 - $95,000
