Pay Range: $18.47 - $23.00 per hour
Job Summary:
The Companion Caregiver provides essential non-medical support to clients in their homes, helping promote their well-being, comfort, and independence. This role focuses on providing companionship, assisting with daily activities, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
Companionship and Client Support
- Provide companionship, friendly conversation, and social interaction.
- Encourage participation in light exercise and recreational activities.
- Provide medication reminders as directed.
- Supervise clients during bathing, toileting, and dressing to help ensure their safety.
- Assist with grocery shopping, errands, and other community-based activities.
Home Management
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment.
Professional Responsibilities
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and complete assigned duties as directed.
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Follow infection control procedures and universal precautions at all times.
- Report changes in a client's condition or any concerns to the office promptly.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet client needs.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with office staff, including availability updates.
- Adhere to all timekeeping and attendance requirements.
- Submit required documentation, including annual PPD records and in-service training, in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Available Shifts
- Overnight shifts: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Mid-day shifts: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with flexible scheduling available within that timeframe
- Weekend shifts: Overnight and mid-day availability
- Morning shifts: Starting at 7:00 AM
- Shift lengths range from 4 to 12 hours
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience as a Companion Caregiver, Homemaker, or a similar role preferred.
- Reliable, dependable, and punctual with strong time management skills.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and follow company policies and procedures.
- Compassionate with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; English proficiency may be required.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to complete required documentation.
