Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Direct Care Workers (DCWs) to provide one-on-one support for individuals in their homes throughout the Wilkes-Barre, PA area. Position Summary
As a Direct Care Worker, you will work directly with individuals in their home environment, providing personal care, companionship, and daily living assistance. This is a rewarding opportunity to build meaningful relationships while making a positive impact every day.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one care and support in the client's home
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including:
- Personal hygiene and grooming
- Dressing and mobility assistance
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance, as needed
- Offer companionship and emotional support
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry
- Assist with community outings and appointments, when applicable
- Observe and report changes in client condition or behavior
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with care plans and company policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous caregiving, direct support, home care, or healthcare experience preferred but not required
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a home setting
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred
- Ability to pass background screening and meet employment requirements
