Provide onsite engineering support for engine teardown, inspection, and rebuild activities by evaluating hardware conditions, resolving complex design issues, and delivering timely technical guidance to depot operations.

Develop and implement design solutions by applying Pratt & Whitney Engineering Standard Work, collaborating with cross-functional engineering disciplines, and supporting product improvements throughout the engine overhaul process.

Serve as the design engineering representative on Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs), balancing customer requirements for durability, performance, manufacturability, cost, and weight when developing design solutions.

Evaluate the serviceability of MSEN engine hardware by reviewing teardown inspection findings, determining component dispositions, documenting engineering decisions, and presenting technical recommendations to Pratt & Whitney leadership and customers.

Expand your structural analysis expertise by applying analytical methods and collaborating with experienced analysts to support engineering decisions and component design improvements.

Travel: 10% travel to support program and customer needs (Domestic).
What You Will Learn:

Develop hands-on expertise in engine hardware by gaining a deep understanding of component teardown, inspection, repair, and reassembly processes, including the use of specialized tooling, fixtures, and handling techniques that protect critical engine parts throughout depot operations.

Qualifications You Must Have:
-
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) and 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience in engineering design and/or analysis.
Qualifications We Prefer:
-
Experience in the aerospace industry, with a strong preference for turbofan engine design, development, or sustainment.

Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, such as Teamcenter, and experience using Siemens NX or comparable 3D CAD software for mechanical design.

Familiarity with structural analysis tools, such as Ansys, and an interest in applying analytical methods to support engineering design decisions.

Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean, CORE, ACE, Six Sigma, or other process improvement frameworks.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, and other engineering or enterprise business applications.

Demonstrated project coordination skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and work across cross-functional teams

Department/Segment Overview:
Mechanical Systems, Externals, & Nacelles (MSEN): The MSEN organization is responsible for the design, development, and in-service support of power transmission systems, bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and architecture, as well as nacelles for commercial and military engine models. Technical disciplines include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition, System Modeling, Mechanical Design analysis for bearings, gears, and seals, and fluid-thermal modeling of associated components and systems.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
