The School Director oversees the talent, brand, and operations of an assigned school to ensure the Celebree mission, vision and values are upheld. Our directors coach, develop, and motivate their leadership team consisting of the Assistant Director, Operations Support Manager, as well as their dedicated team of teachers and school staff. They actively develop and maintain positive customer/community relations. They are responsible for maintaining high-capacity utilization and managing all resources effectively and within budget.
This position requires comprehensive knowledge of MSDE-OCC staffing and licensing requirements and a thorough understanding of the behavioral and developmental stages of children. This position requires the ability to manage a large school; strong leadership and organizational skills, patience, flexibility, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
Education/Experience:
- BA or BS degree in early childhood education or related discipline (those with experience and an associate’s degree will be considered on a case-by-case basis)
- MSDE OCC Approved Trainings including but not limited to:
- 45 clock hrs. - Director Administrative Training
- 45 clock hrs. - Infant/Toddler Training
- 45 clock hrs. - Preschool Methods & Materials / Curriculum
- 45 clock hrs. - School-Age Curriculum & Instruction
- 45 clock hrs. - Child Development (birth - school age)
- 9 clock hrs. - communicating with staff, parents, and the public
- OCC conducted 3 clock hr. regulation training session
- Medication Administration
- Emergency & Disaster Preparedness
- Including All Children & the Americans with Disabilities Act Training
- Basic Health & Safety
- Minimum of 2-years of experience in a licensed childcare setting
- Management experience required
- CPR & First Aid Certified
Specific Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of all MSDE OCC licensing requirements
- Computer skills, preferably Microsoft Office and TEAMS
- Strong ability to lead and elevate a team via coaching and mentoring clear and consistent communication in a well-established culture of accountability
