Skillbridge Internship at Lynch Consultants
Lynch Consultants is partnered with Hire our Hero’s Skillbridge internship program and is seeking military occupational talents within the financial or resource management domains. This skillbridge internship opportunity is designed for active-duty Service Members participating in SkillBridge who have built a strong foundation in military financial management and are looking to apply their expertise in a consulting environment. This will be a 6-weeks internship program where you will develop new skills or enhance your pre-existing skillsets. Those who sucessfully complete the internship program and have demonstrated strong business acumen may receive a full-time opportunity at our firm.
Lynch Consultants has proudly supported the DoD SkillBridge Program for approximately five years, with more than 50 fellows completing the program. Every fellow has successfully secured full-time employment following their fellowship, reflecting our commitment to developing and investing in transitioning Service Members.
Location:
This position can be performed remotely; however, we strongly encourage regular in-person participation at our office in Arlington, VA to maximize mentorship, professional development, networking opportunities, and long-term career success.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a closely related field.
- 4-6+ years of Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), Army, Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC), Navy Rating, Marine MOS, or Coast Guard Rating experience in a financial management role, such as:
- Budget Management
- Accounting
- Financial Analysis
- Payroll
- Audit
- Resource Management
- Comptroller Operations
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Currently serving in or recently transitioning from a military financial management career field through the DoD SkillBridge Program.
- Located in, or willing to relocate to, the National Capital Region (Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Department of Defense or Intelligence Community financial management organizations.
- DoD Financial Management Certification (Level I or higher).
- One or more professional certifications, including:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
- Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)
- Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM)
