The Senior Supply Chain Manager role will own and optimize the third-party logistics and direct-from-supplier shipping operations supporting our EV charging infrastructure equipment portfolio — ensuring on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and operational excellence across warehousing, fulfillment, and last-mile logistics throughout the network lifecycle. The Senior Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for managing our 3PL operation end- to-end, including inventory governance, the pick function from inventory, contract negotiations, and executive-level supplier engagement. This includes influencing suppliers who ship direct — outside our warehouse network — to adopt optimal packaging and logistics processes aligned with Amazon standards. The role requires introducing AI and technology into warehousing and logistics operations to drive scalability and continuous improvement. The SCM will develop and negotiate contracts, manage commercial relationships with 3PL executives, and apply lean process engineering principles to design world-class fulfillment workflows. The role also requires deep ownership of a $90MM+ inventory portfolio — including accuracy, aging, cost optimization, and disposition strategy for legacy equipment during architectural transitions.

Key job responsibilities
1. Own the end-to-end 3PL operation for EV charging infrastructure equipment —including warehousing, inventory management, pick/pack/ship fulfillment, distribution, and reverse logistics.
2. Own inventory governance across the portfolio ($90MM+ in active EV charging infrastructure assets) — including accuracy, aging, turnover, classification, safety stock optimization, and disposition strategy for legacy/obsolete equipment during architectural transitions.
3. Negotiate and manage 3PL contracts (MSAs, SOWs, SLAs**, rate cards, and tiered pricing structures**) and engage directly with 3PL executive leadership on strategic planning, performance escalations, and capacity planning.
4. Own the direct-from-supplier shipping function — influencing suppliers to run optimal packaging, labeling, and logistics processes even when product does not flow through our warehouse.
5. Apply lean manufacturing and process engineering principles (value stream mapping, standard work, kaizen) to design, document, and continuously improve warehouse and logistics workflows, including billing structure analysis, slotting optimization, and cost breakdown techniques.
6. Identify, evaluate, and implement AI and automation solutions across 3PL operations (e.g., demand forecasting, inventory optimization, intelligent routing, predictive analytics) to drive efficiency and reduce cost.
7. Monitor and report on 3PL and supplier logistics performance metrics. Lead issue resolution through root cause analysis and corrective action programs with closed loop feedback mechanisms.
8. Manage contract compliance, conduct regular business reviews, and hold partners accountable to performance standards through penalty/incentive structures and governance frameworks.
9. Own the Storage & Transportation cost model and budget — including quarterly rate reviews, cost forecasting, stress-test scenarios, and proactive renegotiation triggers to maintain cost control against market volatility.
10. Partner cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Construction, Product, Planning, and Finance teams to align inventory deployment with site-level demand signals and architectural requirements.
11. Build and maintain inventory and logistics performance reporting — providing real- time visibility to senior leadership on KPIs including accuracy, aging, cost, on-time delivery, and inventory health.
12. Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions, requiring approximately 15% travel to 3PL partner sites and Amazon facilities.
A day in the life:
Your day will blend strategic negotiations with hands-on operational problem solving. You'll review AI-driven warehouse performance insights, engage with 3PL executives on contract terms and capacity planning, walk the warehouse floor applying lean principles to pick process optimization, and influence a direct-ship supplier on packaging standards. You'll balance proactive process engineering with reactive issue resolution — always driving toward lower cost, faster fulfillment, and smarter operations across the network. You'll also analyze inventory health dashboards, make deployment decisions for legacy equipment, validate Bills of Materials for technical accuracy, and coordinate with Design Engineering on equipment compatibility for upcoming site deployments.

Basic qualifications:
1. 7+ years of supply chain, logistics, or operations management experience with 3+ years managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers or multi-modal complex logistics networks.
2. Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing logistics contracts (MSAs, SOWs, SLAs) and engaging with 3PL executive leadership on commercial and operational matters
3. Experience owning warehouse fulfillment/pick operations and applying process engineering or lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement
4. Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and driving alignment at scale
5. Experience managing large-scale inventory portfolios ($50MM+) including accuracy governance, aging management, and cost optimization
Preferred qualifications:
1. Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration (MBA), Industrial Engineering, or related field — or 4+ years leading cross-functional supply chain teams across operations, logistics, and field execution
2. Direct experience in lean manufacturing or lean warehousing environments (Lean certification, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or equivalent)
3. Experience implementing AI/ML, automation, or advanced analytics solutions in warehousing or logistics environments
4. Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million-dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
5. Experience influencing supplier logistics and packaging processes in a direct-ship or drop-ship model
6. Working knowledge of electrical infrastructure equipment (transformers, switchboards, panel boards, EV chargers) and ability to validate Bills of Materials for technical accuracy
7. Experience with ERP systems (catalog governance, order management, data integrity) and ability to troubleshoot system-level issues impacting supply chain operations
8. Experience developing inventory disposition strategies — including demand-matching, component recovery, and value maximization during product lifecycle transitions
