Position Summary
As a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Cardiac Medical Surgical Unit, you will provide direct patient care to adult patients with a variety of cardiac and medical-surgical diagnoses. You will collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans while ensuring the highest level of patient safety and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established nursing standards.
- Monitor and care for patients with cardiac conditions, including post-procedural and telemetry-monitored patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Interpret and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythms and changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, and post-discharge care.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
- Serve as a patient advocate and promote a culture of safety and quality care.
Qualifications
Required
- Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact state license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Acute care nursing experience.
- Telemetry or cardiac nursing experience.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
