Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with deep expertise in relational database development and full stack application engineering. This role will design, develop, and optimize scalable backend services, database architectures, APIs, cloud-native applications, and user-facing software that power AgileBlue’s cybersecurity platform.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience developing high-performance database solutions while also building modern applications using C#, Python, JavaScript, and AWS cloud technologies. This engineer is passionate about designing scalable systems, solving complex data challenges, leveraging AI-assisted development tools, and continuously improving engineering quality and productivity. This position reports to AgileBlue’s Chief Engineering Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions across backend services, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and web applications.
- Architect and optimize relational database schemas, stored procedures, indexes, data models, and complex SQL queries for high-volume production workloads.
- Design and implement scalable data models across relational and NoSQL databases based on performance, scalability, and business requirements.
- Develop applications using C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks such as React.
- Build and maintain REST APIs and distributed services supporting AgileBlue’s AI-native cybersecurity platform.
- Develop cloud-native applications and services using AWS technologies including ECS, EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, SQS, SNS, Redis, and related services.
- Analyze and optimize application performance, database efficiency, scalability, and system reliability.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Software Architects, QA, Business Analysts, DevOps, and Security Operations throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, code reviews, and mentoring of fellow engineers.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, or similar technologies to improve software quality and engineering productivity.
- Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, secure coding practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience developing enterprise software applications.
- Strong expertise designing and developing relational databases, including schema design, normalization, indexing strategies, query optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Extensive experience with MySQL or other enterprise relational database platforms.
- Experience working with NoSQL technologies such as Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB, or similar platforms.
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET.
- Professional experience with Python for application development, automation, AI integration, or data processing.
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React.
- Experience developing REST APIs and distributed applications.
- Experience building applications on AWS using services such as ECS, EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, SQS, SNS, Redis, or comparable cloud platforms.
- Experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, Windsurf, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, design patterns, and modern engineering best practices.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile software development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
Nice To Have
- Experience developing cybersecurity, SIEM, SOC, XDR, MDR, or security-focused software platforms.
- Experience with AI/LLM technologies including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, or agentic AI systems.
- Experience with AWS Bedrock, OpenAI APIs, Anthropic Claude, or similar AI platforms.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern cloud-native architectures.
- Experience building highly scalable distributed systems processing large volumes of security or telemetry data.
- Experience working in startup or high-growth SaaS environments.
